Overview

A WordPress website built for the Rugby union club Sale Sharks.

We built a background service in AWS that imports up-to-date fixtures and player statistics from a third-party data source into WordPress to display on the website.

This complex process uses a chain of common AWS services like Lambda, S3 and Simple Queue Service.

Fixtures and player statistics are imported from the Opta sports data service.

The listing features a tab navigation with animations.

Page builder

Admin users can construct pages with the WordPress Block Editor.

Live match centre

Fans can watch matches live on the website, with real-time updates on the match score and events. This is achieved by polling a custom-built API and dynamically rendering the updated content using Alpine.js.
